Killer puppies and fuzzy bunnies

I finally figured out that people will look at my stuff if I update more than 3 times a decade. So, here's some new stormchaser stuff, with some working method goodness.

When I get a script, I start making little visual notes of as I read it, mostly just basic panel composition and the camera angle (that's what the little arrows are for)...

then I get the photo reference, either taking it myself or google-ing the crap out of it. So I don't try to get caught up in replicating the photo, I do little studies from the photo and try to keep them as gestural as possible without loosing any clarity..

then I do the pencils but they change and are patched up so much that I don't really save the final version. But here's how the inks turned out...

and there you have it. More next week I promise.

WEBSITE ALL UP IN YA!

So, I polished up the website a bit(and by "I polished " I mean me watching Lindsay Durbing fiddle with the keyboard while I drool like an ape and while trying to find the "caps" button). So go give it a whirl at www.theredarmystudio.com

and here's the latest Stormchaser stuff

for mom...

I did a little experiment and colored some of the Stormchaser pages I've been doing (mostly because Axel Alonso over at Marvel wanted to see them colored)... My cute-as-a-button mom appears in the first page, awwwww.....
